has a trailer for the upcoming "Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" movie.
I really like the books (the first three particularly) and I was a bit nervous
about how good an adaptation would be made. Such a quirky story can't be easy
to film well.

Having seen the new trailer I'm quietly confident that it will be at least a
reasonably good adaptation. It seems to have the right 'feel' to it, the scenes
that are familiar from the books might not be quite as I imagined them but
they still look authentic. There are also quite a few scenes in the trailer that
don't seem to correspond to anything I can think of in the books, but it wouldn't
be a proper adaptation of HHGTTG without changing at least some of the plot.

I'm also reassured that (despite the terrible picture quality in the trailer) the
special effects look better than in the BBC TV series. Zaphod's second head in the
TV series was possibly the worst special effect I've ever seen.

Considerately, they also seem to be releasing the film on my Birthday, so I might go
and see it then.
