Blade Runner
Jan. 10th, 2008 11:44 pmI went to see Blade Runner : The Final Cut today at the cinema. I thought I'd missed it when it was briefly released last year, but fortunately the Cambridge Picturehouse cinema decided to show it again for another week. We missed seeing it yesterday due to taking too much time eating and the cinema doors were locked by the time we got there. During the meal I also discovered that if there are candles in very short, shallow candle holders you should be careful when reading the menu not to let it drop on top of the candle. Fortunately, I didn't really set anything on fire apart from melting part of the side of the menu.
Today we did actually get to the cinema in time. Blade Runner's always been one of my favourite SF films, so it was nice to see it on the big screen (especially since it is a very visually impressive film), although I'm not sure if the new Director's Cut is an improvement over the old one. It's been a few years since I last saw the film, so I'm not sure what scenes are new and which I just don't remember, I don't think there were really any significant changes, anyway.
